Tim Reeve
We get the future we buy… Sustainable procurement is a force for creating not just a greener, but a more just economy. For over 20 years, Tim has been educating public and private sector clients about the environmental and social impacts of the items they purchase – where something comes from, the labour conditions under which it’s made, the materials used to make it, and the total cost of ownership that includes not just price, but a product’s energy use, durability, and how easy it is to repair and ultimately reuse or recycle. Through his work, he’s seen the Canadian Collaboration for Sustainable Procurement (CCSP), a network of Canadian public sector institutions working to align their spending with sustainability commitments, grow tremendously over the last 2 years, more than doubling to over 40 members.
