Tonja Leach

Recognizing that over half of Canada’s emissions are local, QUEST Canada supports communities in Canada on their pathway to net-zero. As Executive Director, Tonja has led her team to successfully engage over 50 regional, municipal, and Indigenous governing bodies, offering climate and energy guidance to 300 municipalities and 4,000 stakeholders over the past two years. Tonja and her team also provide programming and advocacy in support of local energy reduction policies. Following the successful three-year pilot of QUEST Canada’s Net-Zero Communities Accelerator (NCA), local capacity for developing and implementing Community Energy and Emissions Plans increased by an average of 14% among participating communities.
