Sustainability plans can be easy to write on a whiteboard but hard to fund. Usha works to close that gap for some of Canada’s biggest balance sheets. In the past 2 years, she helped her clients mobilize more than $350 million in climate-smart investment, including $250 million into sustainable agriculture and $100 million into export-ready projects, while identifying roughly $70 million in energy savings worth 30,000 tonnes of CO2e. Her most ambitious engagement, a climate-smart agriculture marketplace launching in 2026, will pay farmers directly for carbon storage, water quality, and biodiversity across a million acres of Canadian farmland; soil will now have its own balance sheet. She also co-authored Deloitte’s guide to embedding climate risk into bank lending decisions and advises on Canada’s emerging Sustainable Finance Taxonomy, spreadsheets with roots.
