Vinay Mehta

Utilities don’t often get to build their own advertisement for sustainable design, but Vinay’s Sustainability team did exactly that with Alectra’s Kennedy Road Operations Centre. The LEED Gold facility in Brampton replaced two older sites, cutting corporate water use by nearly 46 percent year-over-year, and almost 92 percent compared to the legacy buildings it consolidated, a genuinely watertight case for building on purpose rather than by default. As the executive overseeing Alectra’s ESG strategy, Vinay helped set measurable climate targets behind a 19.6 percent cut in greenhouse gas emissions since 2023, spanning fleet optimization, solar generation, improved grid management, and a search for SF6 alternatives, moving the company from checking boxes to setting the standard.
