Vincent Klassen
Canada’s 2022-2026 Federal Sustainable Development Strategy is the first to encompass three dimensions of sustainable development – social, economic and environmental – and to enlist over 100 organizations in achieving its targets. It has unprecedented reach across the federal administration, requiring each organization to implement actions, and has influence well beyond by signalling priorities to economic and social actors as well as to Canadians. Vincent played a leading role in the development of Canada’s fifth strategy, rallying over 100 federal organizations, and defining 50 targets and 162 strategies that address key issues such as net-zero emissions, biodiversity, and reconciliation. His commitment to strong sustainability governance, centred around proactive stakeholder engagement, helps drive federal action and foster accountability.
