Zeb Khandwala
CEO, Bay Polymers
A recycling symbol on a pesticide container promises a second life. The residue left inside can cancel that promise in an instant—which is exactly why Zeb built Bay Polymers to recover containers few processors can clean. Under his leadership, annual processing grew nearly 30 percent in one year, from 3.5 million to 4.5 million pounds, diverting more than 2,000 tonnes from landfill and incineration. Bay Polymers now achieves a 97 percent overall recovery rate. In 2025 alone, it processed over 760,000 pounds of pesticide containers and expanded recycling programs across Western Canada—turning containers once bound for the furnace back into valuable raw material, while avoiding about 4,000 tonnes of CO2 each year.
