Leveraging the considerable reach of an influential 217,000-member organization, Gord has played a critical role in positioning Canadian CPAs as leaders in clean capitalism. In partnership with Natural Resources Canada, the group is delivering on a profession-wide strategy addressing the risks of climate change to encourage greater capacity for climate action within the private sector, and identify best practices that support the implementation of the Task Force on Climate-related Financial Disclosures recommendations. Additionally, Gord championed the launch of the Canadian Chapter of the Prince of Wale’s “Accounting for Sustainability” (A4S) CFO Leadership Network, providing an essential forum for CFOs and their teams to explore sustainable business models.
