Monica Curtis

Chief Executive Officer, Energy Efficiency Alberta

Since its April 2017 launch, Energy Efficiency Alberta, led by Monica, has, in a very short time, powered up Alberta’s energy efficiency industry – accelerating adoption of highly-efficient technologies, growing local businesses, and helping commercial enterprises, oil and gas facilities and households control their energy and operating costs. The agency’s programs have proven that government investment in funding energy efficiency pays off: the agency’s $218 M investment is leading to $692M in energy savings and emissions reductions – and increasing GDP by $850M – a 700+% combined return! The more than 216,000 energy efficiency and renewable energy installations across the province are offsetting 5.7M tonnes of GHG emissions and 7.9 million megawatt hours of electricity – enough power for 1.2M homes for a year, as well as stimulating $375M in private-sector investment.
