When reading, please keep in mind that the Carney government has effectively SUSPENDED ALL ENVIRONMENTAL PROTECTION LEGISLATION and projects are effectively pre-approved, with absolutely no impact assessment required. Under present legislation recently enacted as part of the “Budget Implementation Bill” , any Minister can exempt any project from any law except the Criminal Code. And do not have to disclose they have done so – can authorize pretty much anything with anyone – and under no obligation to inform the public.

These include protections for endangered species, and the environment. The Government – or in fact any single cabinet minister – may also seize land without oversight or notice. Because – as above – they may suspend ANY law – excepting only the criminal code. So to be clear, murder is still off the table.
