The people who make a difference

Canada’s first and only energy efficiency utility, EfficiencyOne operates Efficiency Nova Scotia, which is funded by revenues from supplying electricity efficiency and conservation activities. In 2016, EfficiencyOne achieved $150 million in energy-cost savings for Nova Scotians and 700,000 tonnes of avoided CO2 emissions.  Since 2010, the organization has engaged over 250,000 Nova Scotians in energy efficiency programming and has reduced Nova Scotia’s electricity usage by nine percent, delivering industry-leading results at a cost of around three cents per kWh saved. EfficiencyOne’s model of outsourcing the delivery of efficiency programs to local businesses creates jobs, supports local economic growth, and has helped build a new and innovative industry in the province.
