The people who make a difference

Kirk Jones and Claude Dumais led the team that developed CSL’s sustainability strategy. Adopted in 2013, the strategy positions CSL as an environmental sustainability leader in the Short Sea Shipping industry. CSL has maintained ISO 14001 certification since 2011, and has obtained the highest ranking for this year under the Green Marine voluntary certification program. Kirk and Claude oversaw the launch of a number of technologies and practices to reduce SO2, NOx and CO2 emissions from vessels. To date, CSL has saved almost 6,300 tonnes of CO2e.

The Clean50 Individual awards are selected from 16 diverse categories that transcend industries, academia, different levels of government, thought leaders and advocates, and are based on accomplishments delivered over the prior two years.
